Barbara Bush Reading Event
Mrs. Swick's and Mrs. Johnson's 4th grade classes participated in an interactive video conference from the Bush Library in College Station. The classes went into the distance learning lab and watched Mrs. Bush live from the A&M campus. The first lady read a book about unusual animals that had lived in the White House called "Wackiest White House Pets" by author Gibbs Davis. Students from all over Region 6 were invited to be involved in this event. Several students were chosen to ask Mrs. Bush a question. Tyler Aaron from Mrs. Swick's class asked the question "Is the White House really haunted?" Mrs. Bush replied that she felt a presence of greatness there but did not believe it was haunted. The students enjoyed the event immensely and we look forward to participating in these wonderful conferences again.
